Horsethief Frame

Horsethief is our full-suspension 29’er trail bike, designed for all-day riding on rugged terrain.

A very capable climber, Horsethief does have a slight bias toward descending, letting you enjoy the fruits of your uphill labor. By designing the bike for use with a shorter than normal stem, the body is positioned better for aggressive riding.

120mm of rear travel delivered through a custom-tuned Fox shock is paired with 120mm to 140mm of front travel to help you enjoy riding the rough stuff.

The pivot-minimizing suspension design and 142 x 12mm Maxle dropout help keep the rear end tight and tracking well. Removing the rear pivot also reduces chassis weight, and reduces complexity and maintenance.

Devour terrain. Conquer obstacles. Enjoy life.

Horsethief. There’s a new sheriff in town.

Setup

The best way to determine your proper frame size is to visit your local bicycle dealer. The fit chart below is a simple starting point, but the enormous variation in human body dimensions make it impossible to guarantee this fit chart will work precisely for you. We strongly suggest you consult your local bike shop in this matter. They will help you make a wise purchase.

Frame Tech

  • Horsethief - Devour Geometry
Designed for all-day riding in rugged terrain. Slacker angles, a low stance, and a longer toptube paired with a shorter stem length, combine with 29in wheels to create an agressive chassis that floats over rock gardens, motors up and over the roughest ascents and inspires confidence on descents. The bike to take when you want to enjoy conquering difficult terrain.
  • Longer Cockpit
The toptube length of the Horsethief is longer than our other comparably sized MTB frames. The design intent is to use a shorther stem/wider bar to better position yourself for aggressive riding. We recommend using a stem that is 10-20mm shorther than usual to maintain proper fit and optimum performance
  • 120mm Rear Wheel Travel
Combined with 29er wheels and our Devour Geometry, the Horsethief is capable of tackling terrain you might not typically expect a 29er to excel on
  • 120-140mm Fork Compatible
Tested and approved for use with longer travel 140mm travel forks. 120mm fork for optimal trail riding. 140mm fork for more aggressive terrain
  • Pivot Minimizing Suspension
A 120mm rear travel version of our link-actuated single pivot design. The Horsethief features our simplified one-piece rear triangle with shaped stays and a shared pivot link design that reduces pivot points and hardware. This creates a lighter and stiffer rear end with fewer wear and maintainance points
  • Shaped Seatstays
Used in favor of a rear pivot on the 1-piece rear triangle. A rear dropout pivot (if present) would only rotate 1-degree during full suspension compression. We eliminate this pivot point and instead transform the 1-degree of rotation into a slight 5.3mm deflection of the seat stays tubes. The seatstays are shaped and sized appropriately to safely handle this small amount of deflection far beyond the lifespan of the frame. The result is a lightweight, one-piece rear triangle with a single pair of bearings at the main pivot
  • Forged Shared-Pivot Link
Forged for increased stiffness and durability, the dog-bone shaped link feartures a shared pivot where the shock and seatstays meet the link. This removes a shock pin from the system and keeps the link small, light, and simple
  • Fox Float RP2 Boost Valve Rear Shock
Custom-tuned to work with Horsethief's shock rate curve, Adjustable Rebound, Two ProPedal Settings, Boost Valve technology
  • Boost Valve
Proprietary Fox Racing Shox technology: Position sensitive damping adds efficiency at both ends of stroke
  • ProPedal
RP2 shock features two position ProPedal settings. ProPedal Off for unrestricted bump absorption, ProPedal On for optimized suspension activity while climbing
  • Externally Adjustable Rebound
Allows quick adjustment of rebound settings
  • 6061-T6 Heat-Treated Aluminum Tubeset
A mix of hydroformed and shaped tubing, custom spec'd with all-mountain riding in mind for strength and durability, while still working to minimize weight
  • Tapered Headtube
Allows use of tapered forks or standard 1-1/8" forks. Combining the tapered headtube with the large downtube greatly increases the front end stiffness and strength of the frame without adding significant weight
  • Hydroformed Toptube and Downtube
Hydroformed for optimal front triangle stiffness in conjunction with tapered headtube
  • Forged Frame Fittings
Forged fittings throughout the rear triangle, combined with burly chainstays and large oversized main pivot create a rear end that is extremely stiff for positive tracking and reduced wear
  • Direct Mount Front Derailleur
Provides stout, accurate front derailleur positioning
  • Maxle-Compatible 142 x 12mm Rear Spacing
Features hub-catches and a tool-free axle for simple and quick wheel installation. Also increases the torsional stiffness of the rear end
  • Replaceable Derailleur Hanger
    Built-in Maxle threading
  • Dropper Post Optimized
Dropper housing guides on downtube for clean cable routing and no tire or leg interference
  • ISCG 05 Tabs
For simple, precise chain guide attachment
  • Serviceable Bearings
Standard bearing sizes. Removable with standard bearing installation/removal tools
