ADVENTURE BY BIKE®

2013 Sneak Peek

In the bike world, 2013 is right around the corner. In fact, many brands are sharing their info already. While we aren't ready to show you everything yet, we can tell you what lies ahead. We plan to share our entire line up with our dealers later this month and our website will be updated will all our new products later for Eurobike.

So why are we sneak peeking our first product today? It's because we are supporting Russ Roca and Laura Crawford of The Path Less Pedaled. Russ and Laura are working on an exciting project that they will reveal at a later time. If you don't already know their story, make sure to check out their site and their message. It is powerful.

We are very excited to be working with them and to be providing them a couple of new 2013 framesets. With their strong and widespread following, it would be hard to keep these bikes a secret so we thought we'd share the first sneak peek of model year 2013.

Again, more info will be coming in August about our new models, pricing and availability.  Stay tuned.

Hope those of you in the United States are enjoying a nice 4th of July holiday, and that your plans involve a nice bike ride.

Is this the new gravel grinder.

Superdave | July 4th, 2012

nice head tube badge. i hope this is something in the line of a touring bike /cross frameset.

Gerco | July 4th, 2012

.... Rohloff-ready…

lecyclo | July 4th, 2012

Is it a touring bike? Oh please, make a nice steel touring bike. I could sell a lot of them :-)

superdave | July 4th, 2012

put this paint job on the Casseroll and add some mid rack mounts to the fork and you’ve got a touring bike i’ll buy !

cmherron | July 5th, 2012

Loving the art and color scheme!

Bert Franqui | July 5th, 2012

Hi Guys,

Maybe some 650b frame in the next batch?

Superdave | July 5th, 2012

so this is the new Vaya color combo nice.

jp | July 5th, 2012

Nice color!  I’m guessing it’s a touring road bike with S&S couplers?

Salsa Fan | July 5th, 2012

If the new Vaya has a more road-like geometry, looses the double crankset, gains a triple crankset, and looses the disc brakes, maybe the Caseroll won’t be missed so much.  It’ll also be easier to decide between the Vaya and the Fargo.

Gerco | July 6th, 2012

....Caseroll missed??  Is the Caseroll going to be removed from the lineup?

superdave | July 6th, 2012

wow i guess i better get a Casseroll this year. what a big mistake dropping it from the line up.

Any chance any of the Salsa 2013 offerings will be spec’d with SRAM’s new VIA groupset?
2 x 10 + (11-36) = enough gears for light touring, randonneuring, and long-distance commuting?

alex | July 11th, 2012

Probably a touring bike. The Path Less Pedaled people are touring, they were doing it on folding bikes (what?), and Salsa jumped in to promote a new touring bike.  Steel, maybe with discs, but perhaps not. Look at the blog post reviewing the Velo Orange crank: that might be it.

No, that’s Russ’s long time touring bike, his Surly Long Haul Trucker. I’m surprised they’re not teaming up with Surly instead of Salsa since they both tour on Long Haul Trucker’s when they’re not on their Brompton’s. Oh well, it’s all QBP and they both get it right…well with the exception of Salsa’s awful graphics…any change in their graphics would be welcome.

ok….ok….it’s time to make the Spearfish in Titanium…that will be one sweeta** 29er FS Ti. That’s what is new and coming up. I would buy it in a heart beat and so would a lot of my friends. Thanks for making great bikes. Hell I will even test them out here in Tucson. Thx
