Rest and Riding. That was the plan. 2 weeks away from work. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and feel fortunate that I work in this industry and with the people I work with, but it’s still a job. Everyone needs time away to refresh and recharge. I could write a book about this trip and what I’ve learned. I’ll save that stuff for future posts. Here’s my story in pictures.
Dropped wife and kids in Estes Park on my way to Grand Junction.
3 days in Grand Junction and Fruita riding with industry colleagues. Photos courtesy of Mike Curiak.
Returned home to get kids back in school. Perfect fall weather. Stayed home the whole week and rode everyday. Photos courtesy of Marty Larson.
In the end, I came back to work refreshed and ready to hit the 2008 season. I got to ride 8 out of 14 days. Not bad. Man I love bike riding.
Ride and Smile everyone.

Growing up as a Minnesota farm boy, I developed an appreciation and love for land and open space. This appreciation has fostered two passions, cycling and photography. Both of these passions provide freedom, encourage me to explore and foster creativity. More importantly though, my journey with a bike and a camera reminds me that the world is big and I am small.
