And They are Off!

Greetings Amigos. Just a short note today with a couple of links. The Arrowhead 135 Winter Ultra has officially begun. This event is one of the most talked about events in our region. Why is this event so hard and so talked about? Besides the fact that it’s a race over 135 miles of snow trails, it is also an events that fully tests both the “Will” and “Capacity” of the participants. I’ll define “Will” as a participants grit and determination. I’ll define “Capacity” as the preperation and equipment.

Growing up as a Minnesota farm boy, I developed an appreciation and love for land and open space. This appreciation has fostered two passions, cycling and photography. Both of these passions provide freedom, encourage me to explore and foster creativity. More importantly though, my journey with a bike and a camera reminds me that the world is big and I am small.

Man, I haven’t seen Mike’s name come through yet on the Race blog as having come into the Gateway store checkpoint. Hopefully that’s just a fluke, and he’s still on-course and truckin’...

I’ve still got hope for him.

Way to go Mike! Awesome job. I can’t wait to read, and better yet, hear you talk about this triumph. Very cool! I am really happy for you. I hope you are coming through this whole and healthy too.

What really blows my mind is that some of the foot racers beat some of the bikers and skiers. Wow!
