I've ridden the Minnesota River Valley hundreds of times. When you ride a trail this many times, you think you know it pretty darn good. However, last Saturday night we were treated to a whole new experience, crust riding. Imagine being able to ride anywhere. All it took was smooth pedalling and constant torque and you could ride anywhere and over just about anything. We monster trucked for quite a while and then unfortunately had to return to our place of employment for an evening event. Yesterday, Kid shared some images. Today I give you a different take on the same experience. Hope you enjoy.
The evening started off with a beautiful sunset.
The crust gave us all new territory to explore. Soon darkness would set in giving us yet another experience.
We could have been out all night. It was truly incredible. However, we needed to head back so we pointed north. I treated the crew to a new route. It was worth the push.
In the end, no ride is complete without a little mechanical issue. This also gave us some time explore a bit and admire the grafitti. I thought this one was fitting because Bib the Michelin man was walking around our building earlier in the day.
All in all an incredible evening of pure Mukluk riding enjoyment. We discovered new routes, formed new friendships and got to see new things. Few things compare.

Growing up as a Minnesota farm boy, I developed an appreciation and love for land and open space. This appreciation has fostered two passions, cycling and photography. Both of these passions provide freedom, encourage me to explore and foster creativity. More importantly though, my journey with a bike and a camera reminds me that the world is big and I am small.
