1 CommentsAlas, I won't be able to make it to this weekend's 10th Annual Homie Fall Fest because I'm heading up north on vacation later this week. Alas? Who am I kidding? Minnesota's north shore is pretty much my favorite place on the planet, and that's saying a lot since I've seen quite a few great places on this planet.
For those interested however, see the attached flier for the Homie Fall Fest. What is the Homie Fall Fest?
It is a singlespeed rally in the finest of Minneapolis tradition. There will be a lot (and I do mean a lot) of singlespeeders. Lots of beer. A derby or three most likely. Lots of laughs. Some gnarly bit of trail. Good chance someone will get hurt, but not necessarily seriously. A beer bong has been known to make an appearance. Lots of costumes. Some costumes will be more stimulating and/or disturbing than others. The cops may or may not come at some point.
All in all, a fine event with a historic tradition. See the flier. Have some fun. Don't wear your heart rate monitor. Don't bring a GU packet. Don't bring anything that might trick you into thinking that this is actually a race. Because, that is the one thing I can guarantee you it isn't!
If you go, enjoy it for me...while I enjoy the north shore for you!
