Introducing Team Clif Bar Chili Con Crosso

It's almost hard to say summer is over, but when I say "It's cross season!" it makes it just a bit easier to digest. Last year we got hooked up with the Clif Bar Development Cross Team. The team rode our stock Chili Con Crosso's with a couple riders spreading the Salsa Chili sauce all the way through Europe. Well this year, we wanted to take it one step further. Introducing the Team Clif Bar Chili Con Crosso.

Feast your eyes on this cross wonder bike. It's got all the features of our standard Chili Con Crosso with the addition of a custom paint job. Should look great all muddy. The little bit of white will help camouflage you at the historically snowy & muddy Cross Nats in Kansas City too!

Here is the info on the frame sets.

Limited edition: Less than 100 of them made.

MSRP = $1075

Price includes Frame, Black Lip Lock seat clamp and the class leading Alpha Q CX20 with matching custom green logo.

In stock at QBP later this week. OK, the 47cm and the 59 are in stock already. We'll have them at the Outdoor demo, in several booths at Interbike, and at Cross Vegas.

Go to www.salsacycles.com/dealers to find a Salsa dealer and order one up. For sizing info, please use the Chili Con Crosso sizing chart here.

Suffer & repeat....And remember it only lasts for about an hour!

it’s amazing how well the con crosso design is weathering in the face of the innovative, totally new framesets you’re unleashing for ‘09. and i have to say that the con crosso is still the best ‘cross racing frame i’ve had the pleasure (or is it pain?) of swinging a leg over, and mine is on its way back up for another season’s thrashing. i can’t wait…

cheers,
mg

... and man, that LE paint scheme is definitely swank.

i can’t wait for ti stems!! yes!

The Podio will kick even more serious ass if spec'd with the new ProMoto Ti stem!

Only other thing I'd say would need to change in Podio specs is wheels should be the slightly lighter Mavic Ksyrium Equipe, instead of the entry-level Aksium. This helps make the distinction btw. Podio and Pistola even clearer, and the price difference btw. the wheelsets is negligible.

As a consumer, one would expect everything in the Podio to be a little racier, a little more aggressive (such as the ProMoto Ti stem on the Podio instead of the CroMoto stem on the Pistola).

RACE & SMILE!!!

I can’t wait for Salsa’s new Ti stem! That’s the one that should’ve been spec’d on the Podio…

Can you please give us a hint as to what the Salsa Selma bike will be about? Road? MTB? Cross? None of the above? Gracias!

I’ll try to answer the questions all in one post.

Team Paint - It’s limited edition. The extra cost is for the custom paint and for supporting the team. More on the support peace later.

New Stem: Yes, we are working on new ProMoto and ProMoto Ti stems. We will have them at Interbike. I hope they are ready for the Podio production as we will switch.

Fork weights. I’ll look into that. Thanks.

Selma. You’ll see soon enough but I’ll tell you I plan to ride it tomorrow and it’s sweet! ;)

Will the new, super light Salsa alu stem make to production before the Podio is available?

Note: the copy on the Frames section of both the Podio and Pistola must be inaccurate when it comes to fork weight. The Podio’s fork is lighter than the Pistola’s, not the other way around. This can be confirmed by looking at Alpha Q’s website. Please correct. Thanks!

Looks cool.

Not sure if I understand the “team” paint idea. Is a portion of the procedes going to the development team?

Nothing like seeing a 40+ guy on a team development bike, LOL!
