I was born and raised in the hills of Tennessee. I decided in high school I wanted to design the best bikes and parts possible; I’ve been following my dream ever since. I love about every possible mode of cycling, mountain biking is the most fun, but if I’m on two wheels I’m happy.

Wow!  Those Warbirds are looking better all the time.  Me want one!

Di2 internal routing ready?

Excellent colors! This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for…especially the lower seat tube height.

I’m interested in the new carbon Warbird - but just the frame and fork. I already have better parts than it comes with, to be honest. Is it possible to just get a frameset?

The new Warbirds are very smart-looking.  Just like Warbird, Colossal needs to transition away from Ti and steel and towards Carbon and Alu as well.  Only 700c model in lineup I’d keep steel for is Vaya. My two cents.

Eh… you can keep your thru axles. I guess you have to throw in all the new talking points to convince someone to spend $2k on aluminum/tiagra.

Any estimate on when frame-only alu will be available? Good to hear that complete alu bike already available…

Some Dude - Aluminum frame with Warbird Carbon fork are expected in middle of March. Thanks for your interest.

Ron Reed - Warbird Carbon frameset will be available in the Black color this summer.

Sevenz - Yes Di2 internal routing ready.

Thanks Kid Riemer.  Mid March would be helpful for me.

Followup question: Is there a price yet on the Aluminum frame with Warbird Carbon fork?  About $1,000?

Kid Riemer

Some Dude - Warbird Aluminum frameset (aluminum frame with Warbird Carbon fork) will have an MSRP of $999. It will be available in the Teal color…which is very sharp I might add.

Does the carbon bike use the ‘GXP’ model crank? All of the BB standards have me lost…I can’t figure out which model crank would go into that frame.

I’m interested in that carbon bike - any more details on the ETA?

Kid Riemer

Kid Riemer | April 1st, 2015

Ron Reed - Both the Carbon and AL frame use the PF41 Bottom Bracket Standard.  This standard allows for the use of SRAM GXP cranks and Shimano 24 mm spindle cranks.

Heffe - Carbon bikes have a June ETA. Thanks for your interest.

Hi again. My local shop is now saying the ETA on the carbon Warbird is September - is this accurate?

Will the Tiagra Warbird start shipping with the new 4700 groupset?

Love the new Warbirds - would like to try out the carbon.  Any update on when the carbon Warbird will be available to shops and the price on the carbon frame?

No joy on the carbon frames; my area dealers aren’t stocking them. I have the $$ saved, what a bummer. QBP, you got to do at least a bit of mail order or else a lot of people will be screwed!

Heffe - Please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  They can try to help you find a dealer that might have a Warbird bike or frameset in your size. Thanks for your interest and support.

Augsburg - Warbird Carbon has been shipping for a few/couple weeks now. Check in with your dealer please. Thanks much.

@Kid R, before posting I did check with a LBS, the largest in the Seattle area carrying Salsa.  They indicated the 2016 Carbon Warbird is not currently available at this time from their “distributor”.  At least not in the two sizes we are looking for (53 for my wife, 60 for me).  Perhaps everyone is trying to steer sales to last year’s models (given the time of the year).  I will run the trap line again.  Thanks for the response.

@Augsburg -  I’m in Seattle too, hearing the same thing from all the dealers.

I earlier stated in a post above ‘or else a lot of people will be screwed!’. On reflection that comment was hyperbole, so I amend that to say ‘some people may be disappointed’.

any chance there will be a model with the Rival 1 gruppo? I see that SRAM used the teal Warbird as the tests bikes when they introduced Rival 1 to the media, would love that to be available for the public!

Wow! Wow! Wow!  Love my white carbon Warbird!!  Thanks Salsa. Thanks especially to my LBS in St. Cloud for working so hard to find me a 60 cm.  This my third white Salsa in the sable…..hmmmmmm.  Maybe a white Buck Saw?  ....anyone?

Ready to get a Ridley X Trail (which looks like a very, very cool ride), after searching dealers for hundreds of miles from Seattle and finding nothing, contacting Salsa and getting nowhere… I finally and strangely stumbled on a dealer far, far away who had purchased a frameset in my size and color for himself and then was off the bike due to an injury. He sold me his, built up to a stock build but with Industry 9 wheels and shipped it to me for the base price. Sweet! A long strange tale came to an unlikely pleasant conclusion despite the lame local dealers and restrictive sales policy. I am really looking forward to that box arriving! I hope the bike is worth all the stress in trying to find one, since the Ridley is so readily available and looks really nice as well. So weird, QBP.
