Not Your Run Of The Mill Testimonial

Attached is an email we got today from an industry friend. He's riding a Dos Niner currently and was going home to sell his singlespeeded Ala Carte when we pick up the tale...

Greetings -

So, I left work early today because I'm feeling a little under the weather. And I needed to bring my Ala Carte Singlespeed home with me because I sold it and the dude who's buying it wants to pick it up tonight. I'm just not a singlespeed guy.

I was driving the SUV today because I had it wired for towing this morning, which is a whole other story in itself. The SUV has the roof rack and I rarely drive this car anymore. At 17 MPG we leave it parked most of the time.

Long story short and you how this goes, I drove into my garage with the bike on the roof! I heard the crunch and about shit myself. I threw the car in reverse and pulled out quickly.

Crazy thing is I didn't realize that the bike had been completely torn off the roof and was laying in the driveway behind my 4000 lb beast of a vehicle.

Here's the good news. When I back up I stopped about 2 inches shy of running over the rear wheel and the Salsa survived intact with only minor scuff marks on the saddle and some chipped paint on the fork drop-outs.

My Rocky Mount bore the brunt of this collision and is hammered. I called the guys at Rocky Mounts and they sold me a new tray and wheel strap for cheap!

The bike has Salsa bars, a Salsa stem and Delgado Disc wheels. I am convinced that Salsa parts are bomb-proof after this incident.

Cheers! -J
