Global Fat Bike Day 2016: Minneapolis Photo Gallery

In my humble opinion, if there is a bike worthy of a global day of celebration, that bike is most certainly the fatbike.

They create endless opportunities for exploration.

They make it possible to ride on what otherwise might be unrideable surfaces.

They’re dang fun.

Heck…they even float.

And that’s not to mention fatbike angels!

We hope you enjoy the images below, courtesy of photographer Scott Haraldson, from Salsa’s Global Fat Bike Day ride here in Minneapolis.

I love being outside. I prefer to ride on dirt. Or snow. If I was born a hundred years earlier I might have been a polar explorer. There's a great natural world out there to see, smell, taste, listen to, and experience. Life slows down out there and the distractions we've created will disappear if you let them. Give me a backpack and let me go.

There is that thing as fate, sometimes you let it slip, others if you pay attention grab hold. Recently I was able to grab hold of fate and acquire a Beargrease carbon, it was at the right price and well….....

It has opened up a whole new BIG CAN OF WORMS for me. Its Dang fun, I’m looking forward to a nice 3-4 inch snow to ride it in. But in the mean time Im loving it, perhaps to much my ElMar looks at it with contempt. Overtime I ride it I learn something new, venture a new, or forgotten place, none of these places are to far from home but, all are rewarding.

After seeing these photos of this fun event I want to ride my fatty more. I wish I had been there. This even and others has me inspired to put together a similar ride way down her in Delaware, thanks for the post and a bit more inspiration.

I am planning, with some luck, to attend the Salsa Ride Camp in 2017, hope some of this group shows up.

Thanks fort he post and thanks to Salsa for this platform to further spread the joy of biking in whatever form.
