Bunyan Velo Evening Of Adventure 2, November 21, 2015

Bunyan Velo, if you’re unfamiliar, is a print and web magazine about travels on two wheels. Curated and published by the hands and mind of Minneapolis’s own Lucas Winzenburg, each edition of Bunyan Velo has the potential to throw any cyclist with even the slightest amount of wanderlust into a tailspin. The stories and photography, contributed by international bicycle travel heavyweights, capture the essence of seeing the real world from the saddle of a bike.

The Bunyan Velo Evening Of Adventure 2 was a gathering held at Angry Catfish Bicycle + Coffee Bar. Attendees were treated to stories from Cass Gilbert, Brent Knepper, Amy Kippley, Connor Davison, and Mary and Aaron Ehlers, all wrapped up with words and songs from Ben Weaver. Topics covered traveling across Mongolia by bicycle, riding the Tour Divide route, touring the California coast with kids, and finding the hidden-in-plain-sight treasures right out your front door.

As you’d suspect would be the case with an event like this, friends new and old shared, intertwined, and schemed over past rides and the ones yet to come. At the end of the night, though, one thing was for certain: Bicycle travel is undergoing a renaissance, and we can thank people like Lucas for helping to point countless wheels down new roads and paths around the world.
