Limited Edition Salsa Warbird Celebrates Brooks 150th

A Celebratory Alliance of Style and Function: The 150th Anniversary Brooks Warbird

We are thrilled to introduce the limited edition Brooks 150th Anniversary Salsa Warbird. This stunner blends Brooks England’s unrivaled heritage, comfort, and class with the premier gravel bike on the market. It is an incredible honor to have been asked by such a storied brand to collaborate for this historic event.

Brooks has been in business since 1866. John Boultbee Brook’s relationship with the bicycle began when, upon the death of his horse, he decided to give the new-at-the-time two-wheeler a shot. Apparently, the saddle on the bike he tried was so painful to sit on for any amount of time, that he vowed to make a more comfortable one. He filed his first saddle patent in 1882, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Check out the company timeline to really put their longevity and innovative contributions to cycling in perspective.

Bregan Koenigseker, Marketing Consultant at Brooks England, says, “Brooks is proud to work together with Salsa on the Dashing Bikes 150th Anniversary project. Salsa, like Brooks, is an innovative company who has found success by designing unique products to fill a specific need, all the while marching to their own beat.”

He continues, “Salsa caters to many niche styles of riding, even creating new genres along the way. And though their products are uniquely genius, their motivation is simple and fits perfectly with the Brooks slogan – “Enjoy Every Mile.” Salsa bikes are about fun, adventure, and enjoyment, and Brooks is pleased to offer saddles and accessories to complement this mission.”

Salsa Product Manager Joe Meiser was charged with outfitting this very special Warbird. “To honor the significance of this model, we chose a premium build kit from SRAM and added great details like the tubeless ready Service Course 30 wheelset,” he says. “To finish it off, we put together a refined cockpit with the Brooks Cambium C17 saddle and Cambium bar tape wrapped around our incredibly comfortable Cowbell handlebar.”

“We’re very excited to be a part of this special celebration, and for the opportunity to collaborate with Brooks and their design team,” says Kelly MacWilliams, Salsa’s Creative Director. She adds, “On this signature Brooks anniversary edition Warbird, we wanted to honor the legendary attention to detail that Brooks is known for. The end result is as refined as possible. The simple theme of copper is seen in the decals, headbadge, and accessories to accentuate the design aesthetics of both brands.”

We congratulate and salute our friends at Brooks for their monumental achievement. And we’re pleased to bring such a beautiful bicycle to the often rough around the edges world of gravel riding and racing.
