More To Love: New Beargrease & Mukluk

Fat tire bikes were originally devised to take riders through snow, sand, and other terrain that was inaccessible by bike. Today’s fat tire bikes do this better than ever, but they also do much more: cargo mounts open possibilities for multi-week bikepacking trips, trail geometry makes them a blast on singletrack, new frame materials and designs lead to lighter and more comfortable setups for endurance racing, and the list goes on.

Fortunately, we have a fresh shipment of our Beargrease and Mukluk fat tire bikes incoming. Both have the tire floatation you need to cover the loosest, trickiest ground. Both offer frame and fork mounts for carrying all your adventure gear, whether it’s an ultralight setup for an endurance race or supplies for a full day of wandering. Both are capable of bringing a whole new experience to your local summer singletrack rides. But each offers a different ride experience.

Beargrease is designed to feel light on its tires as you float over groomed snow trails, sandy roads, rugged backcountry routes, or your local singletrack on a summer day. Its carbon frame and fork and trail-bike geometry deliver a responsive ride that belies its size. 27.5 x 4.0" wheels and tires hold their momentum while providing excellent rollover and traction. To top it all off, cargo mounts on the frame and fork accommodate all the gear you need for overnight campouts, multi-day endurance efforts, and more.

Mukluk is a tool for pedaling to places you didn’t think bikes could go. Available in carbon or aluminum frame options, it’s built to ride steadily, even when loaded. 26 x 4.6" wheels and tires maximize float over snow, sand, rock, and other loose or rugged surfaces. The Alternator dropouts allow you to tune your ride and go single speed if you wish. Frame and fork mounts are ready to accommodate your camping equipment or extra food and water to fuel open-ended rides on the rugged coastline of Alaska, the sandy washes of the southwest, the snowy boreal forests of the north, and beyond.
