Part 3 - Chase the Chaise - Iconic Poses

We didn’t know what to expect that first year, but riders embraced The Chaise like we never imagined. Everyone brought their own creativity and spirit to their Chaise portrait. Some riders posed like a school picture; others pushed the boundaries of public decency (you know who you are).

Inevitably, some riders had the same ideas, and we ended up with poses that became classics:

Collage; racers doing the Costanza pose on the Chaise

THE COSTANZA

Collage; racers doing headstands or laying upside down on Chaise

THE UPSIDE-DOWN

Collage; racers in various poses with their bikes on, or next to Chaise

THE “JUST ME AND MY BIKE”

Collage; racers hiding behind Chaise

THE HIDE-AND-SEEK

Collage; racers in fainting pose on Chaise

THE FAINTER

Collage; racers jumping, doing handstands, and riding front wheel onto Chaise

CIRQUE DE SOLEI

THE PROPOSAL

Some showed up with their poses well-practiced, others scrambled to think of something at the last moment, but they all turned out great.
