I’m a BC-based writer and bikepacker whose two-wheeled adventures have taken me from Haida Gwaii to Mexico’s high plateaus, across Canada and the United States, and from North Cape to Tarifa along Europe’s highest paved roads.
I have a background in bicycle touring and team sports, but transitioned to competitive ultra-endurance cycling in 2017. I’m a two-time World Ultra Cycling Champion, and I’ve finished self-supported bikepacking races and supported ultras including the Trans Am Bike Race, Transcontinental, NorthCape4000, and Paris-Brest-Paris.
I bought a used Salsa Cutthroat in 2021 and diversified into off-pavement racing, taking the overall win in the BC Epic 1000 (heat dome edition). Since then, I’ve amassed over a dozen wins, including the 2024 Tour Divide.
I have two critically-acclaimed adventure cycling memoirs, South Away: The Pacific Coast on Two Wheels and Shifting Gears: Coast to Coast on the Trans Am Bike Race. When I’m not riding or writing, I probably have my nose tucked into a book.
