6066-T6 Aluminum Frame

Top-shelf, double and triple-butted, heat-treated 6066-T6 aluminum tubing is used throughout the frame. This 6000-series aluminum has better strength and fatigue characteristics than 6061 and 7000-series aluminums, allowing for a stronger and lighter overall frame. Additionally, the tubing is strategically shaped and formed for additional stiffness and strength optimization in key stress areas

Heyday! Geometry

Heyday! geometry works extremely well in all conditions and use cases, whether it's riding groomed singletrack at your local trail, exploring a coastline, or embarking across the wild frozen expanses of Alaska. We use the shortest chainstays possible with a headtube angle and fork offset that place the rider’s center of gravity farther back. This combination of front and rear center is key to getting a fat bike that is stable, steers well in loose conditions, and still feels nimble despite the massive wheels and tires. A low bottom bracket also keeps the rider’s center of gravity low and makes dabbing, dismounting, and remounting easier

Will the Manitou Mastadon fork fit on my Heyday!?

Heyday! Carbon = Yes, but customer needs to check crown clearance if less than 3mm. (If less than 3mm, Salsa offers a Cane Creek spacer part # HD8880; Heyday! Aluminum = No

What wheel and tire sizes can I use on this frame?

Heyday! Carbon and Aluminum frames are designed to work with:

  • 26 x 3.8–5.0" on up to 100mm rim
  • 27.5 x 3.0–4.0" on an 80mm rim
  • 29 x 2.3–3.0" on a 50mm rim

Can I use a suspension fork on this frame?

Yes, this frame was designed and tested for use with a suspension fork with an axle-to-crown length up to 511mm (typically 100mm of travel). Check the fork manufacturer’s specifications to ensure the model and travel combination you intend to use is equal to or less than this length. Using a longer length fork will void the frame warranty and could result in frame failure. Forks with 51mm offset are strongly recommended, but 45mm offset is also acceptable (increases mechanical trail by 6mm).

How do I take care of the alternator dropouts?

Periodically, we recommend that you remove the bolts, and clean the dirt and grime off the hardware and the frame surfaces. Then, lightly regrease the threaded parts and re-assemble.

Do you offer touch-up paint?

No, we do not offer touch up paint. Hobby shops or automotive stores are excellent places to find paint. We suggest you test the paint on a scrap piece of metal before using it on your frame.

I crashed and dented (or cracked) my frame. Is it safe to ride?

Stop riding your frame immediately and take it to the nearest Salsa authorized dealer for inspection. A dented or cracked tube represents a structural weakening of the frame, and is a safety risk.
