6061-T6 alloy frame

Tributary’s aluminum alloy tubing is developed specifically for the Tributary frame, and is heat-treated to T6 alloy standards for extra strength and durability.

Carbon fiber fork

The Tributary Carbon fork is compliant for soaking up road chatter and fits tires up to 29 x 3.0” (29 x 2.4” with fenders) to deliver maximum traction and stability. Rack and Three-Pack mounts allow for extended adventures. Abrasion-resistant plates protect against mud, gravel, and other debris that your tires kick up.

Class 5™ VRS

The Class 5™ Vibration Reduction System has specially shaped seatstays with a tall, thin, vertically oriented profile that promotes vertical compliance by allowing the seatstays to "flex" outwards on impacts. The horizontally oriented chainstays work to resist torque and maintain a laterally stiff rear end. The seatstays and chainstays lack bridges, furthering the full length of the stays to contribute to flexibility. And a rear thru-axle delivers precise tracking while allowing the seatstays to provide that incredible compliance.

Bosch Performance Line Speed mid-drive system

Bosch’s Performance Line Speed with smart system is a Class 3 motor that delivers electric assist up to 28mph/45kph. The mid-drive system delivers loads of torque and range, and keeps the motor’s weight low and centered on the bike for neutral handling.

The Bosch Performance Lined Speed system delivers up to 85Nm of assist, with four customizable assist levels and an integrated speed sensor to control torque output.

625Wh internal battery

The Bosch PowerTube 625 battery offers enough range to get lost on your favorite forest roads. It’s also fully encased in the downtube for added stiffness and a nice, clean look.

Capable of up to 875Wh with range extender battery (sold separately)

The Bosch PowerMore 250 range extender battery bolts to your bottle-cage mounts for and adds 250Wh of assist. More range = more adventure.

What is the Bosch Performance Line Speed mid-drive system?

Tributary uses the Bosch Performance Line Speed mid-drive system. This system features a motor built into the bike’s bottom bracket, powered by a battery in the bike’s downtube. It’s one of the lightest, most discreet ebike systems on the market. The Bosch Performance Line Speed system delivers up to 85Nm of torque and is paired with a Bosch 625Wh PowerTube 625 battery. This is a Class 3* system that only provides electric assist up to 28mph/45kph*.

What is the range?

Ebike range depends on many factors, including rider and equipment weight, weather conditions, route choice, assist level, and more. How do I maintain my e-bike?

Maintenance on an ebike is mostly the same as any other bike, but keep these tips in mind:

More torque and more miles = more wear: Electric assist puts more strain on components and empowers you to ride more miles, so parts like your chain, brakes, and tires may wear out faster than you’re used to. Check them frequently and replace as you would on any other bike.
Washing is OK: The motor and battery on your ebike are sealed against water, so you can wash your ebike like you would a regular bike. However, avoid high-pressure hoses and keep the charging port closed to block moisture. Wipe down controllers rather than spraying them directly with water.
Battery care: Your ebike’s battery will last longer if the bike is stored in a cool, dry place. If storing the bike for long periods of time, try to keep battery charged between 30–60%. The battery will gradually lose charge, so check it periodically and charge as necessary.
Don’t try motor maintenance at home: If your ebike’s motor, battery, or other electronic components aren’t functioning properly, take them to your local authorized Salsa retailer for service — do not attempt to repair them yourself.

Is my ebike safe to keep in my home?

Yes. The batteries used in Salsa ebikes are UL2849-compliant, meaning they have been tested to the highest standards of safety to prevent electrical shock or fires. Always use the manufacturer-supplied charger for your ebike.

Do you offer touch-up paint?

No, we do not offer touch up paint. Hobby shops or automotive stores are excellent places to find paint. We suggest you test the paint on a scrap piece of metal before using it on your frame.

I crashed and dented (or cracked) my frame. Is it safe to ride?

Stop riding your frame immediately and take it to the nearest Salsa authorized dealer for inspection. A dented or cracked tube represents a structural weakening of the frame, and is a safety risk.
